Planning Board

The Town of Cape Vincent Planning Board is a 5 member administrative body.  There are 2 alternate members. The members are all residents of Cape Vincent and are appointed by the Town Board.

The Planning Board meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 7pm in the Recreation Park Building, James St., Cape Vincent, NY.

The Planning Board reviews site plan applications and assists with zoning and development issues and is guided by the town's zoning law and the New York State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Process. The Planning Board  sets public hearings according to the town zoning law.

A few examples of public hearings are:

  • Site Plan review
  • Sub divisions, both major and minor
  • Rezoning
  • Agriculture Protection
  • Special use permits
