The Zoning Board of Appeals is a 5 member Board with 2 alternates. The members of the Zoning Board are all residents of Cape Vincent and are appointed by the Town Board.

The Zoning Board meets the first Monday of the month at 6pm at Recreation Park, 602 S James St. Cape Vincent, NY. They hear appeals (variances) and follow the town zoning law.

A few examples of the different types of variances are:

  • Setbacks for new buildings
  • Setbacks for new homes
  • Setbacks for new additions
  • Setbacks for new sheds
  • Fence heights and locations
